The company has recently released an updated roadmap for its Z-mount lens lineup for the next few years and it looks like photographers will have quite a few to choose from. In 2019 alone, the company plans on releasing at least six new lenses, one of which has since been announced in the form of the 14-30mm f/4 S lens. The rest of the year is also expected to see the introduction of more prime lenses like a 24mm f/1.8 S and an 85mm f/1.8 S.
2020 is also expected to see more lenses introduced to the lineup with at least seven being planned for. However only three have been revealed which includes a 20mm f/1.8 S, a 50mm f/1.2 S, and a 14-24mm f/2.8 S. The rest are simply listed as “TBA”, which is the same for 2021 where another seven “TBA” lenses are mentioned.
However for the most part, the lenses that are already available should be more than enough to get the job done. Also let’s not forget that there is the FTZ mount adapter that will let users mount F-mount lenses onto the Z-mount cameras.
