Nikon To Add New Features To Its Z Mirrorless Cameras In Firmware Update

The quality of a photo taken by a camera is determined by many things, but hardware plays a huge role. However sometimes image quality isn’t everything as photographers might appreciate other features in a camera that could make their lives and jobs easier. The good news for Nikon Z camera owners is that you can look forward to some new features soon.

Nikon has recently announced that in an upcoming firmware update to the camera, they will be adding some new features and support that could come in handy. “The Nikon Z series will continue to adapt to changing user needs through the development and roll-out of firmware updates to meet and exceed creative expectations. Taking into account feedback from photographers and creators, Nikon will display three feature updates under development that open creative opportunities for the Z 6 and Z 7.”

These new features that will be part of a future firmware update includes support for CFexpress. The company also notes that Eye AF is also a feature that is currently under development which will help cameras focus on the eyes of its subjects, and also RAW video support. There is no word on when these features will be released and if they might be released all at once under a single firmware update, but more details will be shared at a later date so check back with us in the future for more updates.
