Nanoleaf Unveils New Hexagonal, Touch-Enabled Smart Light Panels

#CES2019 – If you’re looking to add smart lighting to your room or home, some of you might be familiar with Nanoleaf. The company is probably best known for their triangular LED panels that can be controlled via smartphones, and in 2018 the company also debuted touch-enabled square panels.

However at CES this year, the company took the wraps off a new shape in the form of hexagons. These will function similarly to the square versions of the LED panels where they too are touch-enabled. They are also HomeKit compatible like their predecessors so controlling them using the Home app or Siri is entirely possible.

The new shapes means that users will be able to come up with more unique shapes and designs of their own. Plus you can also combine them with the other shapes to form even more types of designs. In addition to the new shape, the company has also announced the commercial Mounting Grid system for its Canvas panels.

These allow users to mount the panels by snapping them on, and they can be removed by snapping them off. However the mounts are screwed into the wall which means that this is meant for more permanent kind of installations. Unfortunately Nanoleaf did not mention when the new hexagon shapes are expected to be made available save for Q4 2019. There was also no mention of pricing, but given that they are similar in features to the other Nanoleaf products, it should be roughly around that range.
