This is the concept behind HP’s OMEN Obelisk desktops and it looks like the company has announced new upgrades to its lineup for those who might be in the market for a new desktop. There will two models to choose from, where on the exterior they look identical, and for the most part its internals also appear to be similar save for a few differences in processor and GPU.
The OMEN Obelisk Desktop 875-1010 will feature the use of a 9th generation Intel Core i7-9700K processor, HyperX 16GB of DDR4-2666 SDRAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU with 8GB of DDR6 VRAM. The other model, the OMEN Obelisk Desktop 875-1020, will be powered by a more powerful 9th generation Intel Core i9-9900K processor and will be using the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti GPU with 11GB of DDR6 VRAM.
Other than that, both models will be pretty much identical. HP will also be continuing the tradition of keeping the desktop upgrade-friendly with a tool-less design, meaning that taking it apart should be a relatively easy process.
There is no word on pricing or availability just yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for those details when they surface.
