HMD Global Confirms Nokia’s Presence At MWC 2019

The state of the Nokia 9 PureView’s launch has been back and forth. It was initially suggested that the phone might be announced towards the end of January, but later there were claims that it could be unveiled at MWC 2019 instead. The latter report is gaining a bit of credibility as HMD Global’s Juho Sarvikas has confirmed the company’s presence at MWC 2019.

In a tweet posted onto his account, Sarvikas confirmed that they will be hosting an event at MWC 2019 on the 24th of February. While he does not mention what will be announced, it’s safe to assume that the Nokia 9 PureView is high on the list of potential candidates. It’s not necessarily a guarantee, but it makes sense that the company would want to use a high-profile event like MWC to make the announcement, right?

So far the rumored specs of the upcoming Nokia 9 PureView include the use of last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It is also rumored to be packing a 5.99-inch display and will also use an in-display fingerprint sensor. What will probably be its selling point would be the penta-lens array on its back, which does seem a bit excessive but we’ll have to wait and see how the company justifies it.
