Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Confirmed By Marvel Studios Boss

The future of the fan-favorite Guardians of the Galaxy franchise has been doubt ever since the original writer and director James Gunn was fired last year. There’s some good news for the fans today. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will indeed be made but he was a little slim on the details otherwise.

Speaking to MTV interviewer Josh Horowitz at the Golden Globe awards last night, Feige confirmed that “Guardians will happen,” while adding that it was all that he had to say about the project at this point in time, much to the fans’ chagrin. “When, where, how? For a later time,” he said.

The core cast members of the franchise did publicly issue a statement calling on Disney to rehire Gunn but that hasn’t happened yet. The studio decided to put the film on hold so it’s unclear when it may arrive. It was previously believed that the third iteration would be released in 2020.

Gunn has since signed on to write the script for the sequel to Warner Bros.’ award-winning Suicide Squad. Feige did express admiration for Gunn’s work, saying that One thing you know about James Gunn, he makes cool things.”
