Unfortunately this can get quite annoying, such as during the setup process of Windows 10, where according to Microsoft and based on feedback from users, the company will now be disabling Cortana during clean installations of Windows 10. “Based on feedback, if you clean install Pro, Enterprise, or Education editions of Windows, the Cortana voice-over will be disabled by default.”
However Microsoft notes that users who want to enable Cortana during the setup process can do so by pressing WIN + Ctrl + Enter. Microsoft’s initial intention with Cortana during the setup process was to help provide some help to those who are new to Windows or Windows 10, plus it was a good way to show off what Cortana could do. However like we said, it seems that for the most part users did not quite appreciate it and it will now be disabled by default.
