This is a microphone that has been designed for streamers and podcasters in mind, although we imagine that it could probably be used for other purposes as well. This is being marketed as a professional-grade XLR microphone that can help reduce background noise which should come in handy for streamers or podcasters who want a clean sound capture.
It apparently uses a proprietary hand-tuned custom condenser capsule to help achieve that. The fact that it is somewhat small and slim also means that space constraints should not be an issue. The microphone will play nicely with the rest of the company’s accessories, like the suspension mount and boom arm, just to name a few.
That being said, the Ember doesn’t exactly come cheap at $100. This might be more than what some hobbyists or burgeoning podcasters and streamers are willing to pay, but if you don’t mind, you can actually go ahead and pre-order it now where it is expected to go on sale this February.
