Now it could take a while before the update is pushed out to users around the world, but the fact that it is being rolled out in Germany is a good sign. It has been noted that the stable version of the update weighs in about 95 MB for those who were previously on the beta, suggesting that the last beta was more or less the final version of the update and that the changes made might not have been too significant.
This also seems to be in line with what Samsung had previously promised, which was that both the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 would be getting the Android 9.0 Pie update in January, and it seems that things are on track as far as the Note 9 is concerned, and hopefully the update for the Galaxy S9 won’t be too far behind.
For those who haven’t received the notification to update yet, you can always try to manually pull the update from the Settings menu, but given that the initial rollout is in Germany, if you don’t live in the region we doubt that this method will work for now.
