The new Spider-Man game is a PlayStation 4 exclusive and it has been very well received. The reviews of this game have shown that the latest addition to this franchise has lived up to fans’ expectations. Many fans have been urging the publisher Sony to add the iconic “Sam Raimi” suit to the game. It’s the suit from the Tobey Maguire movies. Sony is finally giving them what they have been asking for. Think of it as a present ahead of the holiday season.
Fans’ requests intensified after the Sam Raimi suit was teased in August for this title. However, there wasn’t much information about it since then. Developer Insomniac Games didn’t say whether or not it would be added to the title.
“We obviously never stopped listening,” the developer’s community director James Stevenson wrote on Twitter, adding that “Just know things take a LONG time sometimes (months and months!) and even then go down to the literal wire.” So it basically took the developer longer than what many had expected to get the suit ready.
That’s not even the best part. The Sam Raimi suit is free. Anyone who has a copy of Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 can web around New York City wearing this iconic suit without having to pay anything.
