One of the new features Apple introduced in iOS 12 is Siri Shortcuts. This allows users to make shortcuts that can perform multiple actions at once, like a macro. For example you could create a shortcut that lets you enter expenses without having to launch a separate app, all from a widget on your home screen.
In the latest update to iOS, Apple has introduced additional support for Siri Shortcuts where the Apple Store app will offer up additional features. Basically now users have the ability to use their voice to check on product availability from the Apple Store, as well as being able to check on their order status.
While you could always check product availability and order status via the app, the point of the shortcut is that it will save you a few steps. Users can record a trigger word that will activate the shortcut, for example, “Christmas!” if they want to check on their order’s status for a present that they’re buying someone for the holidays.
There are a ton of Siri Shortcuts that are worth checking out. These are shortcuts made by other users that serve all kinds of purposes and will save you valuable time if implemented correctly, so maybe think about that if you’re looking to make yourself more efficient.
