Recent reports have suggested that Samsung has a new crop of affordable smartphones in the pipeline. The company has seen intense competition in this segment of the market from its Chinese rivals. This is why it’s switching up gears in a bid to compete more effectively against its rivals in this segment. A new report claims that Samsung’s new Galaxy M series has now entered production.

Some earlier reports have even suggested that the new Galaxy M series is going to replace a few existing affordable lineups from Samsung such as the Galaxy J series. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.

A new report claims that Samsung has now started mass production of the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 at its factory in India. Both of these devices are expected to feature notched displays from Samsung. The company did provide a glimpse of its notched displays at SDC 2018 last month.

It would make sense for Samsung to launch these devices in India first. It’s a very lucrative market for affordable handsets and it’s also where Samsung has lost a lot of ground to its Chinese rivals. The company would certainly be hoping that this change in strategy ends up paying dividends in the long run.
