Samsung attempted to defend their decision in a statement that sounded like they were aware of this, but it seems that the company is now reconsidering their position. In a post on Weibo in China (via SamMobile), the company revealed that they are now re-evaluating this cooperation with Supreme Italia.
The statement reads, “Recently, Samsung Electronics announced at the launch of the Galaxy A8s that it will cooperate with Supreme Italia in the Chinese market. We are currently re-evaluating this cooperation, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused.” The company had previously received a ton of backlash from people all around the world, including Supreme NYC themselves who were quick to clarify that they did not have any part in this.
They released a statement that said, “Supreme is not working with Samsung, opening a flagship location in Beijing or participating in a Mercedes-Benz runway show. These claims are blatantly false and propagated by a counterfeit organization.”
