In a report from XDA, a teardown of the stock Samsung Camera APK from the Galaxy Note 9 has revealed some interesting strings that seems to hint at Samsung’s future plans, namely in a feature called “Bright night”. Based on the strings, it talks about a feature that has the ability to “take bright pictures even in very dark conditions”.
There is also a mention of how the feature might work, where it will take multiple shots and combine them to get a brighter and clearer image, similar to how HDR photos are taken and made. The feature does not exist in current Samsung phones, leading us to believe that the feature could be being developed for the Galaxy S10 which is Samsung’s next flagship handset.
We’re not sure if it will work just as well, if not better, than Google’s Night Sight, so we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime there have been reports of other potential Galaxy S10 camera features, such as an improved version of Live Focus, but we’ll have to wait until 2019 and for the official announcement before we know all the details.
