Samsung teased the Galaxy A8s a few weeks ago when it was launching a couple of new handsets in China. The teaser that the company released at that point suggested that the device would have a new kind of display. It revealed a bit more about that display at SDC 2018 last month. The Galaxy A8s is expected to feature Samsung’s Infinity-O display. Samsung has now confirmed that it will be unveiling this device on December 10th.

The Infinity-O display provides a way around the notch, something that Samsung hasn’t adopted for its smartphones as yet. It puts the front camera under a hole that’s drilled into the actual display panel itself.

Samsung is highlighting this unique characteristic of the Galaxy A8s in the teaser that made its way to Weibo in China today. The handset will be unveiled on December 10th in Beijing. It is as yet unclear if Samsung will be launching the Galaxy A8s elsewhere.

It will clearly be Samsung’s first smartphone with the Infinity-O display but it may not be the last. If recent reports are any indication, all Galaxy S10 models might also feature an Infinity-O display.

No word as yet on the other specifications of the Galaxy A8s but with less than a week to go, it won’t be long till we find out more about this device.
