Earlier this year Razer and Microsoft announced a partnership in which Razer would be creating keyboards and mice that would be compatible with the Xbox One, following Microsoft’s promise to eventually add keyboard and mouse support to the console. The good news is that those accessories are finally here.
Razer has announced the Turret for the Xbox One which consists of a wireless keyboard and mouse combo that gamers can use together with the console. The keyboard itself will be of the mechanical variety, although Razer does not actually mention which of its switches will be used. The mouse will also feature 16,000 DPI and 7 buttons that can be independently programmed.
Razer is also boasting that both the keyboard and mouse will feature support from Razer Chroma and also Xbox Dynamic Lighting. According to Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan, “We’re extremely proud to team up with Microsoft to bring you this exclusive collaboration. With the Razer Turret for Xbox One, it is now possible to bring the full experience of a keyboard and mouse, with lighting and game integration to Xbox One.”
Note that while some gamers might be able to appreciate being given more control options for playing with their console, others might not as some feel that gamers with a keyboard and mouse might have an unfair advantage over those who don’t. In any case for those who are interested, the Razer Turret is priced at $250 and will be released worldwide come Q1 2019.
