Fortnite isn’t the only game with 200 million players. The mobile version of the popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG also has just as many players, the company has revealed. The title sees around 30 million players daily. The figure excludes the millions of PUBG copies sold on other conventional gaming platforms.
PUBG Corp. confirmed to The Verge today that PUBG Mobile now has more than 200 million users. That’s the same amount of total players as Fortnite, another massively popular battle royale title, has.
It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Fortnite had hit the 200 million player milestone by November 26th. It’s possible that the total number of people playing that game has increased since then given the sheer popularity of this game. However, it’s also pertinent to mention that the figures for PUBG exclude China, which could result in it having a lot more players than Fortnite.
Furthermore, the 200 million figure is only for PUBG Mobile, which has also been recognized as the best game of the year in the Google Play Store. More than 50 million copies of PUBG have been sold on PC and console. The title’s release was recently confirmed for the PlayStation 4 as well which would bring in countless new players as well.
