HMD Global has done a good job so far of sending out the Android 9 Pie update for some of its devices. However, the Nokia 8 flagship from last year still hasn’t received it yet. It’s set to get the update in the near future as HMD Global has now officially released the Nokia 8 Android Pie beta.
The official launch of the beta for this handset is a good indication that the public launch of this much awaited software update may not be that far off. The Nokia 8 Android Pie beta is officially available for download starting today.
HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas confirmed the beta’s launch through his official Twitter account. Those who are interested in trying out the beta on their Nokia 8 can now do so through the Beta Labs.
In order to take part in the beta, Nokia 8 owners have to visit the https://www.nokia.com/phones/betalabs website and sign in. They will be required to provide their device’s IMEI number and network operator to get enrolled. Once they’re accepted into the program, the Android Pie beta will be sent to their device over the air just like a regular software update.
HMD Global is yet to confirm when it’s planning to release the Nokia 8 Android Pie update to the public.
