The good news is that development of movies for those franchises could begin in the next 6 months. This is according to Marvel’s Kevin Feige who spoke on Variety’s Playback podcast where he revealed that while nothing has been greenlit yet, he thinks that the way things are going, see those franchises folded into the MCU could take place in the first 6 months of 2019.
So far Marvel has been mum on what they plan on doing with Phase 4 of the MCU. We know that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be the first movie in Phase 4 and that is set for a release mid-2019 after Avengers: Endgame. It is possible that Disney could be waiting for the Fox deal to finalize and fold those franchises into the MCU before announcing something.
We have heard rumors of several possible future Marvel movies based on slightly lesser-known characters, such as Shang-Chi, and at the same time we are also expecting sequels for both Doctor Strange and Black Panther, although where exactly they’ll fit into the MCU’s next stage remains to be seen.
