LG’s smartphone division keeps struggling in the market but the company isn’t giving up on this business just yet. It recently changed the division’s leadership to find a way to return to growth in the business. Some reports had suggested that LG might show off a foldable smartphone at CES 2019. That’s now said to be not much of a possibility at one of the world’s biggest trade shows.
LG, like many of its rivals, is believed to be working on a foldable smartphone. It hasn’t shown off even the display panel right now as its rival Samsung has. Samsung itself didn’t reveal the actual design of the device. It merely offered a look at the foldable panel. LG hasn’t even done that so far.
Noted Twitter leakster @evleaks has now claimed that the likelihood of LG showing the foldable smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 is slim. No further clarification is offered as to why LG has made this decision.
There has to be a solid reason behind why LG decided to not unveil the foldable smartphone at CES 2019 if had previously been planning to do so. Perhaps it needs more time with the device. That might very well be the case. Does that mean we will get to see it at MWC 2019 in Barcelona the following month?
Who knows, LG surely isn’t confirming or denying anything about its purported foldable smartphone at this point in time.
