If the recent rumors are to be believed, Apple is said to be working on a new iPad mini. It has been almost two years since the iPad mini has been given any kind of meaningful update, so it’s nice to know that Apple has not decided to kill off the tablet entirely. Now it looks like there is more evidence that a refresh could be in the works.

Thanks to a post on Twitter by Slashleaks (via 9to5Mac), it looks like an alleged case design for the iPad mini 5 has been leaked. Note that the leak is only for the case itself, and this moment in time it’s anyone’s guess as to what the tablet could look like, but from what we can tell, it seems that it might sport a new camera design where there might be a flash unit.

This is according to the cutout section which is oblong in design, and we doubt that Apple will be giving the iPad mini a dual camera. It also seems that there is a good chance that Apple could be keeping the headphone jack on the tablet, thanks to a cutout near the top, and at the sides, there is a cutout which hints at potential integration of the first-gen Smart Connector.

In any case it’s probably too early to tell what kind of design the iPad mini 5 will sport, especially considering that Apple is said to be making this tablet a low-cost version, so we doubt that it will be coming with any of the high-end features of the iPad Pro.
