For example there are “recipes” involving smart devices like those by Nest, where upon the temperature dropping below or rising above a certain degree, you can get notified by the app. Given that iDevices is known for certain smart devices, like connected switches and wall outlets and lights, it does seem like a good fit with IFTTT.
According to iDevices, they have various applets designed for use with IFTTT, such as being able to turn switches and outlets off when you leave the home. “Are you forgetful in the morning, especially pre-coffee? This Applet is for you. Set your iDevices smart switches and outlets to turn off when you leave a specified area, like your home. The official term for this is geo-fencing, but let’s just call it convenient.”
It can also be used to turn on the lights when it is a certain time, and adjust brightness of your lights at set times in the day as well. It can also be used to control things like the fan, and more. If you own iDevices products, then these applets might be worth checking out.
