HYPER Launches USB-C Hub For The iPad Pro

When Apple announced their new 2018 iPad Pros, what was interesting about the announcement was that Apple decided to drop the use of their proprietary Lightning port in favor of a more universal port, the USB-C. This immediately opened up all kinds of doors that would change how users used the tablet.

We also saw how accessory maker Satechi quickly took advantage of it by launching a USB-C hub for the tablet, and it looks like HYPER wants in on the action too and has since announced the HyperDrive. This is another USB-C hub for the iPad Pro where according to HYPER, is unique from the competition where it actually features a C-shaped grip that allows it to hold onto the iPad Pro securely, meaning that users can leave it there and not worry about it.

As far as the ports are concerned, the HyperDrive will offer 6 new ports: 4K HDMI, 3.5mm Audio Jack, SD, Micro SD, USB-A 3.0 and USB-C Power Delivery. HYPER claims that the HyperDrive will be available later this month where it is priced at $49 for customers who sign up here, where its regular retail price is at $99, so if you want to save yourself some money, this could be one way to do it.

That being said, we should point out that despite the iPad Pro featuring a USB-C port, it doesn’t work with all devices and accessories. This isn’t a hardware issue and has more to do with the restrictive nature of iOS which will prevent certain accessories from being recognized.
