Venmo is mostly associated with helping friends pay each other back for meals or purchases, but we suppose it makes perfect sense that it could be used for other purposes too. According to Hulu’s announcement, they are the first-ever TV streaming service that has partnered up with Venmo for payments.
According to Hulu, “Beginning today, if you have a Venmo account, you’ll be able to sign up for a new Hulu account and then pay with Venmo in just a few clicks – no need to pull out your credit card and type in your card number. Just use your mobile Web browser to sign up for Hulu and select Venmo as your payment option. From there, your Venmo balance or linked payment method will be used for your monthly recurring subscription.”
There doesn’t seem to be any added benefit to using Venmo over PayPal or other payment services, but as Hulu says, they just want to bring users more choices and flexibility when it comes to using their platform and paying for services.
