A new trailer for season three of HBO’s True Detective has been released today by the cable giant. It’s in keeping with the mysterious theme of the trailers that have been released previously. That has been done on purpose in order to entice people to actually start watching the series once it eventually airs.
The third season of True Detective will follow Detective Wayne Hays who is played by Mahershala Ali. The story spans across decades as Detective Hays continues to be hung over a case of two missing children that he couldn’t solve back in the 1980s.
The new trailer released by HBO today provides a glimpse of just how much the unsolved case affects this character over the years, so much so that he returns to the crime scenes long after and still can’t figure out why he can’t crack the case.
This trailer leaves us with more questions than answers, which is what you would expect from any trailer worth its salt. HBO has previously confirmed that the third season of True Detective is going to premiere on January 13th, 2019. Series creator Nic Pizzolatto has written most of the episodes in this season himself just like the previous seasons of this show.
