Unfortunately it doesn’t seem that many CS:GO players believe that is the case. The game is now being reviewed bombed on Steam where over 25,000 players have since left negative reviews following Valve’s decision. From what we gather, it isn’t so much that players are upset that a game that they paid for is now free.
Instead it seems that players are upset with the influx of new players which some believe will lead to an increase in cheating. CS:GO has been plagued with issues regarding cheating in the past, and even in the professional circuit the game isn’t immune from it, where a professional was actually caught cheating during a live tournament.
Whether or not these fears are unfounded is unclear, but safe to say that many aren’t too thrilled by this. What exactly Valve plans to do to placate gamers remains to be seen, so we’ll just have to wait it out and see what happens.
