Fireworks are lovely to look at, but unfortunately due to their loud noise, more often than not they end up scaring babies and our pets. Thankfully Ford Europe thinks that they might have the solution for the latter, and have actually designed a doghouse with noise-cancelling features so that your pet can stay inside comfortably while you enjoy the fireworks.
According to Lyn West, brand content manager, Marketing Communications, Ford of Europe, “We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could help people in other situations. Making sure dogs and their owners could enjoy a stress-free New Year’s Eve seemed like the perfect application for our Active Noise Control system, and we have a few more ideas in progress as to how our everyday lives might benefit from a little Ford know-how.”
Ford claims that this idea was actually inspired by the noise-cancelling technology that they introduced to the Edge SUV, which tries to minimize engine and transmission noise to help keep things nice and quiet for the driver and passenger. We’re not sure if Ford plans to eventually start mass producing and selling this doghouse, but for now the company claims that it is only a prototype part of their Interventions initiative, which uses technology and concepts that they’ve built for their cars to “solve everyday problems”.
