It was rumored earlier this year that Netflix will release a new Black Mirror episode which would be a choose-your-own-adventure kind of experience. It has released a trailer today for a new episode titled Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. This feature-length special is going to be out tomorrow on Netflix but it’s not clear as yet if it will let viewers choose their own adventure.
What the trailer does reveal is that this special episode will have all the characteristics of a Black Mirror episode. The plot is set in 1984 where a young programmer is trying to adapt a fantasy novel titled Bandersnatch into a video game. However, this “mind-mangling challenge,” because it’s Black Mirror after all.
Netflix hasn’t really confirmed if this is the choose-your-own-adventure episode of Black Mirror that was rumored earlier this year. There’s speculation that Bandersnatch is indeed that episode. The trailer does seem to give off that vibe. The trailer refers to this episode as an “event” and that viewers can “change your mind” and “change your life.”
Fortunately, Black Mirror fans won’t have to wait for long to find this out for themselves. The episode is going to be released tomorrow on Netflix. It will be available for streaming in all regions.
