However it seems that the company has decided to find more ways to monetize the game by announcing a battle pass system. According to the announcement, “Want to take things a step further? Upgrade with the Battle Pass! For just 1,000 Platinum, the Battle Pass sweetens the new rewards system by expediting player progress, adding bonus rewards milestones and granting access to special exclusive content!”
For those unfamiliar, 1,000 Platinum will cost $10 if you plan on paying it outright and don’t want to go through the hassle of earning it. As you can see in the table above, purchasing the Battle Pass system will grant players with additional bonuses like more weekly challenges, along with the ability to unlock unique items that will only be available to Battle Pass owners. For the most part the game is still very much free-to-play, but it is clear that the introduction of the Battle Pass system is Bethesda’s way of trying to encourage gamers to spend more.
