Razer BlackWidow Lite Mechanical Keyboard Announced

In the comfort of your own home, you are more than welcome to use keyboards with RGB backlighting. However in the office space, using such a keyboard might be viewed as distracting, but if you absolutely need to use a mechanical keyboard, then maybe Razer’s latest keyboard offering might be of interest to you.

The company has recently announced its latest keyboard in the BlackWidow lineup in the form of the BlackWidow Lite. This is a mechanical keyboard that does away with all the RGB lighting that Razer is known for in favor white backlit keys, along with a sleek and minimalist look that the company claims will be fit for the professional environment.

The keyboard will also feature the use of Razer’s Orange switches which offer near-silent tactile operations, which means that it won’t be loud and clicky to the point where it might distract your co-workers. According to Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO, “We play hard, but we work just as hard. One third of our daily lives are spent in front of desks, so we want you to experience a keyboard that makes typing feel great. The BlackWidow Lite keyboard was engineered to be the perfect companion for work and for play.”

Note that the keyboard is a tenkeyless design which means that it does away with the dedicated number pad. There will also be a detachable braided cable for portability and storage. It will also play nicely with Razer’s Synapse 3 software that lets users configure their keyboard layout and create macros. The BlackWidow Lite is priced at $90 and is available now.
