Companies such as Apple, Samsung, and Huawei have made pretty great strides with regards to their smartphone photography tech, unlike Google where it was only until recently that the company started to adopt a dual camera setup. However Google had more than made up for it with their great camera software, as demonstrated in the Pixel 3 smartphones.
One of those features is Night Sight which basically takes low-light photography to the next level. Now for those worried that Night Sight might be a Pixel-only feature, you might be pleased to learn that the feature has since been ported onto the OnePlus 6 and 6T, meaning that even non-Pixel smartphones will be take advantage of the feature.
This is thanks to developer Arnova8G2 which has managed to port the Google Camera app with Night Sight to the phones. Note that the OnePlus 6 and 6T aren’t the only phones to have received the port. Previously the feature had managed to find its way onto the Xiaomi Mi 5 and the Essential Phone, so now it looks like it has since found its way to more devices.
That being said, this isn’t an official port so you should probably treat it as such, but it seems to be good enough to be used as a daily driver. If you’d like to get your hands on it, head on over to XDA’s website for the download for the OnePlus 6 or to Google Drive for the OnePlus 6T.
