Given how big a role a smartphone’s display plays in our experience, and how reliant we are on it to interact with it, safe to say that getting the display right is vital. Unfortunately for some OnePlus 6T users, it appears that they have run into some issues regarding the display for their handsets.
If you watch the video above, it shows the display of the OnePlus 6T where towards the end of the video, you’ll notice a weird static/flicker on the display that seemingly happens out of the blue. It is unclear as to what might be the trigger as users are reporting that they seem to happen at random.
However if there is one thing most of these users share in common is that they are either using the facial recognition system or the in-display fingerprint sensor, with the problem typically occurring at the lockscreen (although this isn’t always the case). Factory resets don’t seem to be able to solve the issue so it seems like this could be a possible hardware issue rather than a software one.
OnePlus has yet to official respond to the reports but presumably the company is aware of it, but exactly what they plan to do about it is unclear. However if you are experiencing such an issue, maybe you could try your luck taking it back for an exchange.
