Official Nintendo Wii U Facebook Page Will Be Shuttered This Friday

Following the massive success of the Nintendo Wii, we’re sure that Nintendo assumed that the Wii U, which comes with a separate screen that you can play games on in case your TV is being used by someone else, would be an even bigger hit. It actually turned out to be the opposite where less than 5 years into the console’s life, Nintendo ended its production.

Now fast forward 6 years later, it seems that not only has the Wii U’s production come to an end, but so will its official Facebook page. In a post on the Wii U Facebook page, Nintendo announced that they’ll be shutting it down this Friday, the 9th of November. “From Nintendo Land, right through to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, thank you for being part of our Wii U journey. We’ll be closing this page on Friday, November 9th.”

We suppose it doesn’t really make sense for Nintendo to continue operating a page for a console that is no longer in production. For gamers who still want to stay on top of Nintendo’s releases, news, and updates, you can always follow the company’s official main Facebook page, or the Nintendo Switch page that will contain information and posts related to Switch content.
