Microsoft & Apple Working To Resolve iCloud For Windows Compatibility

While Apple would no doubt love for you to access iCloud on its Mac computers, the company is aware that there are many Apple customers who might not necessarily own a Mac computer, which is why some services and software such as iTunes and iCloud are also accessible on a Windows computer.

However it seems that the latest update to Windows 10 might have resulted in some compatibility issues with iCloud, according to a report from Windows Latest (via 9to5Mac) in which users are running into issue as a result. Users who are trying to use iCloud on their Windows 10 computers are running in the error message that says that it “requires Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10 (April 2018 Update) and earlier.”

Note that this only seems to affect users who have downloaded the latest update to Windows 10. In the meantime Microsoft is trying to mitigate the problem temporarily by blocking users with the app installed. “To ensure a seamless experience, Microsoft is blocking devices with iCloud for Windows (version 7.7.0.27) software installed from being offered Window 10, version 1809 until this issue has been resolved.”

Both Microsoft and Apple are said to be working together to solve these issues, so if you absolutely need to access iCloud, you can always try the web version of iCloud in the meantime.
