Last month there was a report that Android users would soon get the option to manually backup their devices to Google Drive, and now a report from 9to5Google has revealed that the feature is now rolling out to users. Prior to this, the automatic backup feature was limited to a device that was charging and connected to WiFi.
As 9to5Google points out, this might pose a problem to devices that might have a broken port or no access to WiFi, which we realize are very specific circumstances, but at the same time giving users the option and freedom to backup whenever they want is a good thing. If you own an Android device, you should be able to find the “Back up now” button under your Backup settings. If you don’t see it yet, don’t fret as it should eventually find its way to you.
