Keurig has seen considerable success with its single-serve, coffee pod machines that make it really easy for users to have good coffee at home. It’s now looking to replicate that success with a machine which can essentially be called the Keurig of cocktails. It has launched a new machine today called the Drinkworks Home Bar. The machine has been developed in collaboration with Anheuser-Busch.
The machine looks and functions like you’d expect a Keurig machine to. It can make cocktails from single pod servings.
There’s a companion app as well which pairs with the machine over Bluetooth to enable users to see what the machine is doing, troubleshoot any issues, and even order pod refills. The app is only available for iOS right now but will soon be available for Android as well. The machine also has a touchscreen display so that users can make drinks without the app.
The Drinkworks Home Bar by Keurig is priced at $299. The single serve cocktail pods will cost $3.00 or $15.99 for four. Users will get to choose from 15 cocktails at launch which include options such as Long Island iced tea, margarita, mojito, and Moscow mule. All pods will have a unique barcode which will enable the machine to set the appropriate carbonation and temperature.
The machine will need water and users will also need to buy a CO2 tank for carbonation. It will ship with one CO2 tank out of the box so that users can make around 15 drinks. It can brew beer as well with pods from Beck’s and Bass. Stella Artois Cidre pods will be available as well. This machine is being launched in St. Louis, Missouri initially and will be available for pre-order online through the Drinkworks’ website or select retailers such as all Total Wine & More locations from November 19th.
