Google Pixel 3 To Get Call Screen Transcripts Soon

Earlier it was reported that the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL would be getting the call screen feature that Google had announced earlier this year. Now according to a report from XDA, it seems that the call screen feature is also expected to eventually find its way onto the Google Pixel 3 handset as well.

For those who are unfamiliar with the feature, as its name implies, this is a call screening feature that will let you use Google Assistant to screen your calls. This means that in the event that you receive a call from an unknown number, you can use the call screen feature to get Google Assistant to talk to them, and it will also write up a transcript of said conversation so you know whether or not you want to answer that call.

The feature’s availability for the Pixel phones was confirmed by one of Google’s Product Managers, Paul Dunlop, who said that the feature is expected to be released by the end of the year. The call screen feature also seems to be similar to a feature that Google had developed, where they demonstrated an AI feature called Duplex that could actually make calls to restaurants and make bookings rather convincingly.
