The next major tournament series for Fornite isn’t going to be limited to professional players. “Winter Royale” is the next major competition for this popular title with a prize pool of $1 million. The best part is that any and all players can compete for a chance to win cash prizes.
The Winter Royale open tournament for Fortnite is going to start later this month. It expands on the tournament feature that Epic Games announced in October. While earlier cash tournaments were limited to professional players or popular streamers who were invited to compete, this tournament will be open to all players.
The competition is going to be divided into the qualifiers and finals phases. “The top performers in each region for NA and EU will be verified, and those players found eligible will be invited to participate in the Winter Royale Finals for their region,” according to Epic Games.
The only restriction for this tournament is that it’s limited to North America and the EU regions. However, the developer does say that it plans on holding other region-specific tournaments in the coming months.
Qualifiers will take place on November 24th and 25th while the finals will begin on November 30th in Europe and December 11th in North America.
