For those looking forward to that update, a report from Android Police has revealed that the update is now being rolled out to users. As the report points out, it seems that there are some users who aren’t particularly thrilled by the new update, but then again design changes are more often than not met with some form of resistance, but given that there’s no other way to chat with your Facebook friends (assuming you don’t have their number), users have little choice but to deal with the changes.
Also as Android Police notes, the new update seems to utilize a lot of white in its design to help create that clean look. The only problem is that Facebook did not give users the option to enable a dark mode, which means that using the app in the dark can be kind of glaring, not to mention Google recently did some testing of their own and found that dark mode in apps helped to save battery life, so giving users the option to enable a dark mode in Messenger would have been a nice touch.
