This would be very interesting as smartphone models are usually announced once a year, so for Xiaomi to launch the Black Shark and Black Shark 2 within the same year is an interesting strategy, although we’re not sure if this is a rushed job. At this point in time little is known about the Black Shark 2 in terms of hardware, but presumably it should share specs similar to flagship phones of 2018.
Like we said, this will be interesting as the Black Shark features a Snapdragon 845 chipset, and presumably its successor should use the same chipset as well, which means that we’re not sure how different the Black Shark 2 could be. We were a little disappointed by the screen resolution of the Black Shark which was only Full HD, so maybe its successor will bump it to QHD or higher.
In the meantime Razer is still leading the market as far as gaming smartphones are concerned. They recently launched the Razer Phone 2 which continues to employ a 120Hz refresh rate for its display, which at the moment still makes them the only smartphone company to use such a display for smartphones.
