‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Movie Delayed To Summer 2020

Following the critical success of the Wonder Woman movie starring Gal Gadot, it didn’t come as a surprise that a sequel was greenlit. The movie was initially confirmed for a release on the 1st of November, 2019, but unfortunately it seems that the movie has since been delayed where it will now be released in the summer of 2020.

This was confirmed by the movie’s actress who tweeted that the movie will now be released on the 5th of June, 2020. Warner’s president of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein has since confirmed Gadot’s tweet in a statement that reads, “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer, so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

The sequel to Wonder Woman is expected to be set in the 1980s hence the title, and will see director Patty Jenkins return as the movie’s director. It will also see Chris Pine reprise his role in the first movie, and will also be introducing Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig who will be playing the role of Cheetah, one of Wonder Woman’s iconic villains. We’re sure that some are probably disappointed by the delay, but hopefully the delay will allow them to polish the movie further and let it live up to its predecessor’s success.
