In case hybrid devices like the Surface Pro aren’t really for you and you’re still hankering for a “proper” laptop, then you’ll be interested to learn that Microsoft has since announced its latest Windows 10 laptop in the form of the Surface Laptop 2, the successor to last year’s Surface Laptop.
The new Surface Laptop 2 will feature the use of Intel’s 8th generation Core processor which Microsoft claims will make it a whopping 85% faster than its predecessor. The laptop will also feature the use of PixelSense Touch Display with a resolution of 2256 x 1504, and according to the official numbers, will boast a very impressive battery life of 14.5 hours. Your mileage may vary depending on how you use it, but 14.5 hours is very impressive.
The Surface Laptop 2 will also come in a new matte black finish, adding a sleek touch to its look. There is support for either 8GB or 16GB of RAM, and it will also see the use of Intel’s UHD Graphics 620. There are also storage options starting at 128GB of SSD up to 1TB of SSD. There does not appear to be any USB-C connections so that’s something to think about if you’re considering the laptop.
Set for a release on the 16th of October, the Surface Laptop 2 will be priced starting at $999.
