While the Nintendo Switch has proven to be a commercial success for Nintendo, it seems that there are still quite a few big named games out there that have yet to be released on the console. We’re not sure why, but if we had to guess, hardware limitations could be one of them as the Switch isn’t exactly the most powerful console compared to the PS4 or Xbox One.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is an example of a game that will not be launching on the Switch, but apparently Square Enix wants to change that. In a video put out by YouTuber DreamcastGuy, he claims to have heard from a source that the company apparently “wants” to bring Kingdom Hearts 3 onto the Switch, but are apparently going to base their decision on whether or not it will sell.
“This morning I got an exclusive leak from a friend close to Square-Enix. It seems that they are super interested in bringing Kingdom Hearts and the HD Collections over to the Nintendo Switch but they want to make sure they will sell big numbers! Do you think this could be a success or a lost cause?”
Take note that this doesn’t mean that the Switch version of the game is in the works but rather it seems like Square Enix is simply expressing their interest. This wouldn’t be surprising when you consider that the company has sung praises about the console, and are looking to bring more Final Fantasy titles to the console as well. Whether or not we will ever see Kingdom Hearts 3 on the Switch remains to be seen, so take it with a grain of salt and maybe don’t get your hopes up just yet.
