Spotify For Wear OS Gets A Brand New App

If you like listening to music on the go and you have a Wear OS smartwatch, there’s a good chance that Spotify could be one of the apps and services you use. The good news is that if you thought that Spotify app on Wear OS could stand to do with some improvements, you’ll be pleased to learn that’s exactly what happened.

Spotify has announced that they have launched a brand new app for Wear OS, as you can see in the image above. According to Mikael Ericsson, Senior Product Director at Spotify, “We’re excited to bring improved on-the-go-access to your favorite music and podcasts to millions of Spotify users on Wear OS by Google smartwatches. Being able to easily access, control, and connect music directly from your wrist opens up a world of new opportunities. We look forward to continuing to improve the Spotify experience in this space.”

Some of the changes that Spotify has made to its new app is an improvement to the way users can control their music on their wearables. For example users can start the stopwatch app and start playing music at the same time. Users will also be able to use gestures such as flicks, and the Wear OS version of the app can also be used to control playback on speakers through Spotify Connect.

The new and updated app is expected to be rolled out over the coming week, so do keep an eye out for it if you’re a Spotify user.
