Razer Hammerhead USB-C Earphones Announced

These days we’re starting to see more wireless headphones released. This seems to follow the trend of smartphone makers deciding to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack on their phones, thus forcing customers to either turn to dongles and adapters or get wireless headphones. However as convenient as wireless headphones are, there are obvious drawbacks.

For one it means that you will need to recharge them, and second there are many who believe that wired headphones do offer up better sound quality compared to wireless. If you’re the type that still prefers wired headphones, then you might be interested to learn that Razer has announced the Hammerhead USB-C ANC earphones.

These are a pair of in-ear earphones that are wired and connects to your smartphone (like the Razer Phone 2) via the USB-C port. This means that users won’t have to deal with dongles and adapters, although the downside is that you can’t charge your phone and listen to music at the same time (unless your phone supports wireless charging).

The headphones will also feature ANC (active noise cancelling) which will be powered by drawing on your phone’s battery, which means that users will never need to worry about having to charge the headphones. They will also feature a built-in digital to audio converter (DAC) provides 24 bit/96 kHz audio. The Razer Hammerhead USB-C ANC will be priced at $100 and will be going on sale via Razer’s website come 22nd of October, 2018.
