In terms of hardware, the OnePlus 6T will share several similarities with its predecessor. We’re looking at the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset along with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM depending on your configuration, along with 128GB or 256GB of storage that can be expanded via microSD. However with the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus has given it an upgrade by increasing its screen size where it will now feature a 6.41-inch 2340×1080 AMOLED display.
It will also pack a larger 3,700mAh battery (versus the 3,300mAh in the OnePlus 6), and will also feature a dual camera on the back with a 16MP + 20MP combo with both OIS and EIS, and an aperture of f/1.7, and a 16MP front-facing camera to boot. The OnePlus 6T will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and unfortunately the rumors were true and that the OnePlus 6T has ultimately decided to ditch the headphone jack, although OnePlus will bundle an adapter with the phone.
OnePlus has also partnered up with T-Mobile where for the first time ever, OnePlus will be making its phones available through a major US carrier. This is a huge win for OnePlus especially when you consider that other Chinese OEMs such as Huawei weren’t successful in their own efforts. The phone will be compatible with other carriers too. The OnePlus 6T will be priced starting at $549 and will be available for purchase this coming Thursday.
