Bethesda Says Next Wolfenstein Title Will Come To The Switch As Well

We know that many gamers might have been disappointed when they found out that Fallout 76 will not be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Bethesda claims that it “wasn’t doable”, and while it is disappointing, let’s not forget that Bethesda has released quite a few titles for Nintendo’s platform such as Fallout Shelter, Skyrim, DOOM, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

In fact gamers should take note that Bethesda has not forsaken the Switch despite Fallout 76 passing on the console. According to a report from GameXplain  (via VG247), Bethesda’s Pete Hines confirmed during PAX Australia that the next Wolfenstein title will be released on the Switch.

According to Hines, “That’s also why the next Wolfenstein is going to be out on Switch as well, and that’s why Doom Eternal was announced, and in that case, not just as a port but as something that – for the first time we’re building a game from scratch that really has the Switch in mind.”

The next Wolfenstein title, dubbed Young Blood, was announced earlier this year during E3 2018. There was no mention of which platforms the game will be launching on, but Hines’ comments more or less confirms that it will be launched on the Switch as one of the available platforms. There was also no mention of a specific release date save for 2019, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
