Like many Android handset makers, Motorola has several phones and series part of its lineup designed to cater to users with different needs, expectations, and budget. The Motorola X/Z were originally designed to appeal to users with more money and who cared about performance, while its other lineups like the E and G were aimed at users on a budget.
However it seems that come 2019, Motorola could be thinking of taking a break from its higher-end phones and instead focus on one lineup, the Moto G. This is according to a tweet by famed leakster Evan Blass who writes that 2019 will be the year Motorola/Lenovo will focus on the Moto G, and to that end we should expect to see a ton of Moto G handsets launched.
Lenovo may have cut the Moto C, M, & X lines this year, but next year is going to see a record number of Moto G models: Standard, Play, Plus, and Power.

This will include the standard model, the Moto G Play, Plus, and Power. Details of these phones are still scarce at this point in time, so we’ll just have to wait until 2019 to find out more. It is unclear as to why the rest of the lineup will be taking a break from Motorola’s launch schedule, but it’s hard to deny that despite the Moto G lineup being a mid-range lineup, it has proven to be rather popular, so we can’t say we’re surprised that Motorola has opted to direct their resources towards it.
