While the older Mac Minis were positioned as a casual-ish sort of computer, it seems that the new Mac Mini is being aimed at professionals. Apple is touting the use of Intel’s 8th gen processors where users can configure it in either quad-core or six-core options. It will also support up to a whopping 64GB of 2,666MHz SO-DIMM RAM.
There will be a bunch of connectivity options for the new Mac Mini, which includes four Thunderbolt 3 ports, a HDMI port, 2x USB-A ports, and an Ethernet port that can be configured up to 10Gb. In terms of pricing, the new Mac Minis are priced higher than its predecessor at $799, but even at those prices it’s still relatively affordable for those who want a desktop-like computer but prefer using their own monitors, keyboard, and mouse. The new Mac Mini is available for pre-order starting today and will be released on the 7th of November.
