Add LG to the list of companies expected to unveil a foldable smartphone in the near future. Samsung has long been working on such a device which it’s now expected to provide a preview of at its developers’ conference next week. Huawei is reportedly working on one as well. A new report suggests that the LG foldable smartphone will be launched at CES 2019.
The Consumer Electronics Show is an annual event in Las Vegas where a lot of new tech is introduced. It would be the perfect stage for LG to unveil the device. It’s now expected that LG will unveil the device at this major event in January next year.
The report about the handset’s launch comes from Evan Blass a.k.a @evleaks, a Twitter leaker who is believed to be well informed on such matters. He tweeted today that LG “plans” to unveil a foldable smartphone at its CES 2019 keynote.
No additional details have been revealed at this point in time so it’s unclear what LG’s foldable smartphone is going to look like, what its specs are going to be, and how much it’s going to cost. It’s also unclear when LG will actually release the device. Samsung’s foldable smartphone is also expected to be released early next year.
